The National Conference is dedicated to cancer patients, family and friends and was formed in 1984 by a few cancer patients.
They realised the benefits and value of sharing knowledge and support with each other.
The conference attracts a large number of delegates from cancer support groups, people on their own, health
professionals and anyone who is dedicated to the cancer cause. It is recognised as being a leading event in
cancer self help and support.
We believe cancer self help and support is still in its beginnings and our role
is to share our experiences with more and more people. Our vision for the National
Conference of Cancer Self Help and Support Groups is to help everyone affected by cancer,
whether they're a cancer patient, a family member or health professional.
We, as the Trustees and Committee of this Conference aim to inform, comfort, inspire
and strengthen each individual who attends the conference and we hope that each delegate
leaves feeling renewed and with an energy to live life within their personal experience of
cancer, in peace and dignity, free from fear or confusion.
We are grateful to our sponsors, Macmillan Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK for their continued support
and belief in the National Conference and National Cancer Action Team for their support for this years conference.
